W. G. MATTHIAS DIES SUDDENLY

 William G. Matthias, 44, office manager of P. H. Nottage CO., real estate 
brokerage concern, died suddenly Friday night at his home, 1666 Liholiho St.
 Born May 15, 1892, at Cardiff, Wales, Mr. Matthias came here about 20 years 
ago to work for Ewa plantation. After his honorable discharge from the army in 
1919, he became cashier for Lewers & Cooke, Ltd., and was made treasurer and a 
director two years later.
 In 1926 he resigned to become treasurer and manager of Realty Associates, 
Ltd. Until six months ago he was with Honolulu Motors in Hilo. About two 
months ago he joined Mr. Nottage.
 Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Hope Darrow Matthias; a daughter, June, and a 
brother, Gwynn J. Matthias, president of the First Trust Co., Hilo. Masonic 
funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Williams mortuary.
