Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com March 29, 2012, 7:00 pm Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Thursday, April 24, 1975 Marion Morse, 82, of 45-090 Namoku St., Kaneohe, longtime librarian at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, died Sunday in Castle Hospital. She was born in New Hampshire. Miss Morse was graduated from the University of California's School of Library Science in 1915. She went to Maui in 1921 to become the first Maui County librarian. In 1927 she became the Academy of Arts' first librarian and served in that capacity until her retirement in 1957. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Hawaii Library Association and the Friends of Iolani Palace. At her request, there will be no funeral services. Those who wish to honor her memory may contribute to the library of the Academy of Arts. She is survived by a sister, Annie Morse of Washington, and a brother, Walter Morse of Oregon.
