The Honolulu Advertiser, March 2, 1951
John Richard Pontes, age 19, of 644 11th Ave.; born in Lahaina, Maui, Feb. 3, 
1932; died at his residence Feb. 28. Friends may call after 7:30 a.m. Saturday 
at Borthwick's mortuary. The procession leaves the mortuary at 10 a.m. for 
Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in Diamond Head 
Memorial Park. He is survived by his father, John Pontes, brother, Walter 
Pontes; two sisters, Genevieve and Dorothy Pontes; two uncles, John B. and 
Gregory Pontes; two aunts, Mrs. Lucy Ferreira, and Mrs. Flora Ferreira.
