The Honolulu Advertiser, October 28, 1989
 Yukie Shimomura, 88, of Honolulu, formerly of Hanapepe, Kauai, died Oct. 25, 
1989. She was born in Kumamoto, Japan, and was the retired owner of Y. 
Shimomura Store. Survived by sons, Bunji of Hanapepe and Daniel T.; daughters, 
Mrs. Yoichi (Hilda A.) Tamura, Mrs. Henry (Nancy H.) Miyamoto of California, 
Barbara K. Gillespie of New York; brother, Horace H. Hasegawa; nine 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial service noon tomorrow at 
Hosoi Garden Mortuary. No flowers. Casual attire.
