Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com March 15, 2012, 7:54 pm Honolulu Advertiser, October 24, 1958 Robert Wikeen Dies in Mainland Guard Jet Crash Robert Wikeen, 27, former Islander and son of the late Dr. John R. Wikeen died last Saturday night in a National Guard jet crash in New Jersey, according to word received here yesterday. Wikeen was a co-pilot for Pan American Airways. He formerly was with PAA here. No details of the jet crash were available. But according to a letter received by friends here, Wikeen was on an Air Guard night mission when he crashed. He was operating out of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J. Funeral services were held yesterday at the Air Force Base. Born in Honolulu and a 1949 graduate of Punahou School, Wikeen vacationed in Hawaii last summer. He told friends he wanted to return here to live. He is survived by a brother, Peter, in the Merchant Marine; and mother Mrs. Charles Sennfinaugh, of Westwood, Calif.
