Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com December 12, 2012, 4:29 pm Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Saturday, May 1, 1948 Marian Blaisdell Is a Bride Punahou's Sacred Heart church was the scene of a wedding Saturday of Miss Marian Lonie Blaisdell and William Edward Knowles Jr. The candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Daniel McLellan. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lonie Blaisdell of Honolulu, the bride wore a chiffon marquisette gown. Her flowers were a lovely arrangement of gardenias accented by a single white orchid. The bride chose her sister, Mrs. Orville Wright Mullikin as her only attendant. Attired in a powder blue chiffon gown, she carried a muff of delphiniums. Like blossoms were in her hair. Best man was George Dubie. Ushers were Lt. Col. Mullikin, brother in law of the bride and Gaylord Mercer. The Manoa valley home of the bride's parents was scene of the following reception. The bride was graduated from Roosevelt high school and attended the University of Hawaii. During the war she served with the WARDs at Ft. Shafter. She is now with The Honolulu Advertiser. Mr. Knowles was graduated from Berkeley high school and Santa Rosa junior college. During the war he was with the merchant marine. He is now national advertising manager of KGU. The couple will live at 225-C Liliuokalani Ave. after a brief honeymoon on windward Oahu.
