Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com March 6, 2014, 6:42 pm The Honolulu Advertiser, Sunday, June 9, 1935 Miss Henne And Fletcher Stevens Married Thursday Miss Maureen Elizabeth Henne, daughter of Mrs. Mary Henne of Honolulu, and Fletcher Hibbard Stevens, son of Mrs. Jessie Stevens of Maine, were married at 5 p.m. Thursday at St. Clement's church, which was decorated with tiny chrysanthemums and ferns. The Rev. E. Tanner Brown officiated. Organ music preceding and during the ceremony was played by Mrs. Walter Love. The bride was escorted to the altar by Wayne Steward who gave her in marriage. Her mousseline de soie gown was designed with a train and worn over a soft taffeta slip. Rows of small pleating trimmed the neckline and the train. Gardenias banded her cap, from which extended a three-quarter length veil of tulle. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies. The maid-of-honor, Miss Vera Henne, sister of the bride, was dressed in orchid flowered organdy. She wore a leghorn hat trimmed to match her dress and carried a bouquet of spring flowers. Mrs. Mae Brash, in blue flowered organdy, and Mrs. Charles E. Van Denburgh, in pink flowered organdy, were the bride's other attendants. Matching leghorn hats' and arm bouquets of spring flowers completed their outfits. Mrs. Henne, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue flowered chiffon gown. A gardenia corsage made an attractive contrast to the navy blue accessories of her gown. Dr. Adrian Brash was the bestman and Herbert Knudsen and Charles E. Van Denburgh were the ushers. Following the wedding the family and wedding party had a dinner party at M's Tavern and from there continued to the Alexander Young roof garden for dancing. The bride wore a white flat crepe evening gown for this affair. Mr. and Mrs. Stevens will be at home after June 5 at 433 Lewers street. The bride was the hostess Monday night at a dinner at her Kalia Road home for the members of her bridal party. The table was decorated in white for the occasion.
