Orr jessicanorr@gmail.com March 12, 2014, 10:30 pm The Honolulu Advertiser, Sunday, June 8, 1930 Miller-Rhodes Wedding Tuesday Miss Willa Jane Rhodes and L. Ervin Miller were married on Tuesday afternoon at a half past two service at the Methodist Episcopal church, with about fifty friends at the ceremony and the informal reception in the church parlors afterward. The bride's dress was an afternoon one of white satin and she wore a white picture hat and long lei of gardenias. Her attendant, Miss Mary A. Kizer of Koloa, Kauai, wore a pretty frock of blue chiffon; her hat was a large white one and she also had a gardenia lei. Charles Barrett was the best man. Mrs. Miller has been in the Islands about two years, first on Kauai and later at the Queen's hospital, while Mr. Miller is one of the faculty at Mid-Pacific Institute. They left for the Volcano on Tuesday afternoon and on their return will be at home at 1521 Wilder avenue.
