AKIONA. Mrs. Mileka Akiona of Lihue died suddenly Sunday afternoon on the way home from Kapaa and was buried yesterday afternoon in Lihue, Revs. Keahi and Lydgate officiating. Mrs. Akiona, nee Mileka Kahale, was born at Anahola of a prominent leading family there. Her brother was the late Judge Kahale, and her sister is Mrs. C. K. Haae of Waipouli. She married a prominent Chinese merchant of Nawiliwili, but he went to China many years ago, leaving her a widow. She has always been active and prominent in church and Sunday School interests, and has brought up a very estimable family of children who do credit to her memory. She was the mother of Mrs. Belle Waiau, a valued member of The Garden Island staff. The passing of these old-time Hawaiians of the finer type is much to be regretted.
