WILBUR A. ANDERSON PASSES ON SUDDENLY AT HIS LIHUE HOME

 Wilbur A. Anderson, cashier of the Ahukini Terminal and Railway Co., Ltd. 
died suddenly of heart failure, at his home in Lihue last Wednesday afternoon. 
He had recently undergone an operation for appendicitis at the Kilauea 
hospital, and had recovered enough to return to work for part of the day. He 
left his office shortly after noon and had spent the greater part of the 
afternoon resting. He was found dead in the bathroom, a short time after he 
had arisen from his rest.
 The remains were cremated that evening, and private funeral services were 
held on Thursday afternoon, at his home in Lihue. Interment will take place at 
his former home in Maine.
 Wilbur A. Anderson was born in Falmont, Me., January 6, 1879. He graduated 
from Amherst College in 1902, and came to Hawaii in the same year as an 
instructor at Punahou. He married Isabel C. Pollister in Honolulu in 1904. He 
returned to the mainland in 1907 and came back to Hawaii in 1915 as manager of 
the Acatylene Light and Agency Co., Ltd. He entered the Navy in 1917, as an 
ensign and for two years was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He came to Kauai in 
1923 as cashier for the Ahukini Terminal and Railway Co., Ltd., which position 
he held at the time of his death.
 He is survived by his widow, and two daughters, Mrs. Orme Cheatham of 
Washington D. C. and Miss Jean Anderson.
 He was Past Master of Kauai Lodge F. & A. M., a member of the Kauai Post of 
the American Legion and of the Kauai Chamber of Commerce. He leaves a wide 
circle of friends to mourn his passing.
