A wireless message was received from Charles A. Rice last evening of the death in Honolulu of Maulili Kapule, head cowboy for Lihue Ranch. He was killed by having his horse fall on him while taking part in the roping contest at the fairgrounds about four o'clock yesterday afternoon. Maulili has been with Lihue Ranch since childhood and was considered one of the best hands with cattle and horses in the Territory. He was a man of exceptionally fine character and an industrious and earnest worker. He leaves a widow and several children. Word comes from Huleia that Mrs. Kapule had premonition yesterday morning that something was going to happen to her husband and in consequence was in tears most of the day.
