The Great Reaper, Death, claimed for his own Felix Hoapili Kula, the 12-year-old son of James K. Kula, who has been ill for some months of tuberculosis. He died at the home of his parents in Koloa, Tuesday, July 18th, at 3:20 PM. The funeral services were conducted by the Reverends Lydgate and Paaluhi, the interment taking place on Wednesday at 4 PM in Koloa cemetery. Felix was widely known and beloved as a member of the Junior Christian Endeavor Society of which he was a faithful and earnest worker, being the leading spirit in conventions held at Waimea, Lihue, Hilo, Kailua, Kona, and Honolulu. His sweet tenor voice was a delight to all who heard him and gave promise of great things for the future. His death has saddened many hearts that will sorely miss him. "There is a Reaper, whose name is Death; And with his sickle keen, He reaps the bearded grain with a breath, And the flowers that grow between."
