Among the deaths consequent on the flu, one of the most regrettable is that of John Lovell, assistant jailer at Lihue, who died last week after making a brave fight for life. He was an uncommonly fine specimen of Hawaiian, generously endowed with those attractive qualities that win favor and make friends on all sides. In addition to a very pleasing personality, he had a good deal of the rustle and character of a successful businessman. He was a young man of much promise. We can ill afford to lose him.
