A Filipino named Lorenzo Mayovo, residing in the Filipino camp at Kilauea plantation, was shot at the left side of the left eye between 7 and 8 o'clock Sunday evening and died about an hour and a half later. The shooting, which was with a revolver, took place in the room of one Antonio Icala, also in the camp, and was in the presence of Icala and at least one other man. It is alleged that the shooting occurred immediately after the man Mayovo entered the room, indicating that it was the culmination of a previous feud. Upon preliminary information received, a plantation policemen employed by the Kilauea Sugar Company arrested Icala and turned him over to Deputy Sheriff Werner. He is now Hanalei jail. A coroner's jury was empanelled yesterday to inquire into the case and adjourned over from yesterday afternoon to today to complete its investigation. It is stated that this is another case in which liquor played an important part.
