BOY MEETS DEATH UNDER CART WHEEL. Henry Jr., the 8-year-old son of Henry Piko, an employee of Lihue Ranch, was killed last Thursday afternoon by being run over by a cane cart loaded with cane tops. The accident occurred in the Rice's pasture on the brow of the hill above Nawiliwili. With some other children, the boy was riding in the cart on top of the cane. It is stated that some of the cane tops jolted off the cart, carrying the boy with them, who fell in such a manner that the cart wheels passed across his stomach. The injured boy was rushed to the hospital where he died soon after arriving. Funeral services were held at the home of the parents Friday afternoon, and interment took place at the cemetery near the high school, William Kaiawe reading the service in the absence of Rev. Keahi.
