Francisco Quartero Of Waimea Dies

 LIHUE, Kauai - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Sacred 
Hearts church in Waimea for Francisco Quartero, 66, of Waimea.
 Mr. Quartero died Wednesday while fishing in the Waimea River. He had been 
under a doctor's care for some time prior to his death, whose cause has not 
been finally determined.
 Friends may call at the home of Alfred Yaris in Pakala from 2 p.m. Friday to 
3:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial in Hanapepe Filipino Cemetery will follow the 
services.
 Mr. Quartero was born in the Philippines on February 7, 1897. He was a former 
employee of Gay and Robinson. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dolores 
Yaris of Pakala, and six grandchildren.
