The Garden Island, Lihue, Kauai, Tues., 9-15-1914
YATAGAO, HIDEO
A CHILD DROWNED IN ELEELE DITCH.  A Japanese child (boy) Hideo, about two years of 
age, father's name Yatagao, fell into a ditch near Pump 3 of the McBryde Sugar 
Company in Hanapepe Valley about 12:30 Sunday afternoon and was drowned. The body 
disappeared quickly from the locality and was found about 9 o'clock Monday morning
at 
Pump 4 year the Eleele hospital. Deputy Sheriff Henry Blake went to Hanapepe a short

time later and held a coroner's investigation, the verdict returned being accidental

drowning. []
