The little 14-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chang Yau of Waimea has been ill for a week or so with pneumonia. The crisis seemed to have passed a few days ago, and the child rallied and seemed to be on the road to recovery. The mother saw her little one apparently calmly sleeping on Monday and tiptoed out of the room, happy that her boy was resting. Shortly afterward, however, her mother-heart became anxious, and she went softly in to see him and was horrified to find him dead. The little fellow was buried on Tuesday from the Foreign Church. Many neighbors called to offer sympathy and help to the bereaved parents, who feel deeply appreciative for the words of cheer given and the many floral offerings brought. Chang Yau is cashier of Bishop's Bank at Waimea. The funeral services, both at the home and at the church, were conducted by Rev. Marcus E. Carver.
