The Garden Island, Lihue, Kauai, Tues., 12-28-1920
YOU, SIN
SIN YOU DROWNS IN WAIMEA RIVER.  There was a very unfortunate accident Sunday 
afternoon, which resulted in the death by drowning of Sin You, a late graduate of 
the Kauai High School and well known in Lihue. It was a pleasant afternoon, and 
the water was smooth when he went for a swim at the mouth of the Waimea River. He 
swam across and on the way back was probably overtaken by a cramp, which disabled 
him so that he went down. There seems to have been no one at hand who was able to 
help him, and he was carried out to sea. The body has not been recovered yet. Sin 
You was a very promising young man. Genial, quiet, capable, and industrious, he 
commended himself to all who knew him. It is a pity to lose a young man like that.
