They are branched out in various places in Hawaii. The chiefs are different, the general populace is different. The chiefs go about in their high esteemed manner and the common people go about in their humble manner. The chiefs of Oahu and Kauai, Hawaii and Maui and Molokai have one common ancestery. But they branched out and reunited in places. In the genealogical line of Nanaulu, it is thought that he is an ancester of Tahiti and Borabora because in this genealogy down to Moikeha ( it is said he is from Tahiti ) and married Hooipo ( Hinauulua ) in Kauai, who bore their three children: Hookamalii, Haulanuiaiakea, and Kila. And Hookamalii became the chiefly ancestor for Oahu: and Haulanuiaiakea for Kauai; and Kila for Hawaii. In the geneology of Punaimua, he is one of the ancestors of Oahu, Kauai and Hawaii's chiefs. From Punaimua until Laamaikahiki ( it is said he comes from Tahiti) and in Kualoa on Oahu was the place he landed and married four wives: Hoakanuikapuaihelu the name of one wife, Waolena another, Manoopupaipai another, and Halaula was the fourth. Three wives gave birth on the same day. To Hoakanuikapuaihelu was born Laulialaa; to Waolena was born Ahukinialaa; to Manoopupaipai was born Kukonaalaa; Halaula bore Laapuweluula who was born at a different time. From here we obtained some of the chiefly ancesters of Oahu and Kauai and Hawaii and Maui. Where Kauai's chiefs are united with Hawaii's: Kalanikukuma married Kapoleikauila and had Kahakumakaliua; Umi married Mokuahualieakea and had Akahiilikapu who married Kahakumakaliua and was born Koihalawai who married Keawenuiaumi and had Kanaloakuaana. The place where Oahu's chiefs are lined to Hawaii's: Kaihikapuakuihewa married Ipuwaiahoalani and had Kauakahikuaanaauakane and had Kaneikauaiwilani who married Keakealani and had Kalanikauleleiaiwi. Therefore, the chiefs who were recently deceased were linked and the very ancient chiefs they were linked since the chiefs of various lands went and travelled and pursued pleasures as it has been frequently been said in legends. However, there are many abusive things which they did in warring back and forth. The genealogical lines that have branched out of Nanaula are Nana, Kapulani, Punaimua, Kuhelani, Hanalaaiki, Kanaloa, Kalahumoku, Makalae, Hakau and others. There is just one person for whom are these ancestors at this time. The people of this genealogy from the first to the last were the ones who have branched out through the children; it is not this genealogy that must be understood; it is every branch that must be understood. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
