Herbert L. Apana

 Funeral services were held August 23 in San Francisco for Herbert Lau Apana,
42, former Islander who died there August 20 of a heart attack.
 He had been employed with the City of San Francisco's Juvenile Court Division
during the last 10 years. For 16 years before that, he worked for Matson
Navigation Company.
 Mr. Apana, who was born in Kahului, Maui, was buried in Cypress Lawn Cemetery.
 He is a graduate of St. Anthony's School, Wailuku, Maui.
 Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth V. Davis; children, Karen, Stephen and
Julie; mother, Mrs. Frank L. (Nora L.) Apana of Wahiawa; sisters, Mrs. Bernice
Espe, Mrs. Irene Chang, Mrs. Blossom Aiu, Mrs. Rose Cheng of San Francisco, Mrs.
Carole Pahia, Mrs. Dorothy Apana and Mrs. Melva Tanaka, and brothers, Donald of
Molokai, Allan of Pearl City, Clifford of San Jose, California, and Kenneth of
Wahiawa.
