Nellist THOMAS ALEXANDER ARNOTT, Automobile Man. Thomas A. Arnott, senior partner of Arnott & Hough, operating a garage and repair shop, became established in Honolulu by a happy chance. In 1909 he came here from Australia en route to Vancouver. He intended remaining but a few days sightseeing until the next boat passed through, but boats for Vancouver were allowed to come and go unheeded. Mr. Arnott remained here and went into business. For a brief period he was superintendent of The Pond Co. garage and then became associated with Mr. Hough in the business they now direct. Mr. Arnott is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Honolulu Golf Club. He was born in London, England, the son of Alexander Robertson and Susan Ann Arnott. His education was obtained at English public schools and at Margate College. In 1916 he married Della Kathleen Stitt of Portland, Ore., and they have two children, Robert and Thomas Arnott.
