Published by the Honolulu Star Bulletin, 1925 Author: George F. Nellist, Editor LEROY BLESSING, Honolulu Auto Club Executive. The remarkable growth of the Honolulu Automobile Club in recent years is attributed in part to the work of LeRoy Blessing, former journalist, who has been its manager since December, 1920. A service department second to none in the United States has been developed by the club under Mr. Blessing’s direction. Born in Bellefontaine, O., Oct. 14, 1876, Mr. Blessing is the son of Frank W. and Anna (Slicer) Blessing. He received his education in the public schools of Ohio, and upon being graduated from high school joined the staff of the Bellefontaine “Index-Republican” as a reporter. Rising rapidly, he held executive offices in the newspaper organization and in 1906 succeeded General Robert P. Kennedy as editor. Before coming to Hawaii Mr. Blessing sold his interest in the paper and retired from editorial work. He married Leigha JoHantgen, Oct. 14, 1902. He is a Mason, Shriner, and a member of the Y.M.C.A. and Central Union Church.
