Published by the Honolulu Star Bulletin, 1925 Author: Edited by George F. Nellist MANUEL SILVA BOTELHO, Attorney. A veteran lawyer of the Island of Hawaii, Manuel S. Botelho has practiced his profession at Honokaa for almost a score of years, has been second magistrate since 1909, and is prominent in business circles. Born in Acares, Portugal, Sept. 10, 1878, he is the son of Joaquin J. S. and Mary (Fragoso) Botelho. He obtained his education at the Central Normal College, Danville, Ind., being granted the degrees of B. S. and LL.B. He was admitted to the bar by the Supreme Court of Indiana in 1905, and has practiced at Honokaa since 1908, being admitted to practice before the territorial supreme court in 1919. He is proprietor of the Botelho Garage, established in 1912. He is a member of Western Star Lodge No. 26, F. & A.M., Danville, Ind.; Maile Lodge No. 4, K. of P., Honokaa, and the Hawaii Auto Club. He married Mary Bruce Branco at Laupahoehoe, Hawaii, April 23, 1910. They have seven children, Edmund, David, Thelma, William, Vivian, Josephine and Ernestine Botelho.
