Brown, proprietor of Brown’s Boot Shop, has followed the shoe business in Honolulu since 1910. He was associated with the Hawaii Shoe Co. from 1910 to 1923 as manager of the firm, leaving to establish his own enterprise. Mr. Brown has won recognition in artistic circles as a vocalist. Born in New York City, May 16, 1869, Mr. Brown is the son of George W. and Louise (Isaacs) Brown. He received his education in the schools of New York and Colorado. Starting business life in 1882 he was associated until 1904 with the C. S. Morey Mercantile Co., at Denver, Colo., and was store manager for the Regal Shoe Co. in Oakland, Calif., and Chicago, Ill., from 1904 to 1909. Mr. Brown married Minnie Armstrong of Ouray, Colo., June 9, 1892. He is a Mason, a charter member of the Musical Art Society of Chicago under the leadership of Clarence Dickenson, and served in the Hawaii National Guard in 1917.
