CAMPBELL, Financier. Albert N. Campbell, financier and corporation official, treasurer and director of the Henry Waterhouse Trust Co., Ltd., for twenty-three years and now its president, began his career as an instructor in the Stockton Business College and Normal Institute, and was traveling salesman for Weister & Co., San Francisco, for the succeeding three years. In 1898 he came to Honolulu as an instructor at Oahu College. A year later Mr. Campbell took a position as cashier with W. R. Castle, which position he held until 1902. Having bought at this time a large interest in the Henry Waterhouse Trust Co., Ltd., today one of the leading trust companies in Hawaii, he became its treasurer and a director. On May 11, 1925, Mr. Campbell was elected president of the corporation. Mr. Campbell was one of the original promoters of the Honolulu Gas Co., of which concern he has been treasurer and director since its incorporation in 1904. He is one of the trustees of the estate of the late James Campbell and is officer and director of a number of the important and successful corporations in the Territory. He is a member of the Elks, Chiefs of Hawaii, Oahu Country, Commercial and Pacific clubs. Born at Dayton, Nevada, Oct. 1, 1868, the son of James L. and Mary Jane (Atkins) Campbell, Mr. Campbell was educated at the Methodist College at Napa and the Stockton Business College and Normal Institute, Stockton, Cal. In 1907 he married Josephine de Lartigue in Honolulu and they have three children, Newton, Valkyrie and David.
