Nellist HOLBROOK MARCH GOODALE, Engineer. Resigning his commission as an ensign in the navy in 1921, shortly after his graduation from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Holbroook M. Goodale returned to civil life and joined the Hawaiian Pineapple Co., Ltd., where he is now employed as assistant engineer. Born in Winchester, Mass., Nov. 4, 1898, the son of William Whitmore Goodale, prominent figure in the Hawaiian sugar industry and long manager of Waialua plantation, and Emma (Whitney) Goodale, Mr. Goodale came to his parents’ home in the islands when an infant and received his early education at the Valley School, Honolulu, later attending the Thacher School, California, and the Naval Academy, to which he was appointed by the late Prince Kuhio Kalanianaole, Hawaiian delegate to Congress. Mr. Goodale married Juliet Atwood Rice, daughter of Senator and Mrs. Charles A. Rice of Kauai, on Oct. 21, 1921. They have one child, H. M. Goodale, Jr., born Oct. 8, 1923. Mr. Goodale is a Mason and a member of the Commercial Club.
