Nellist WILLIAM DANIELS HOLT, Office Manager. William D. Holt, assistant treasurer and office manager of the Royal Hawaiian Sales Co., Ltd., began work as a messenger in the territorial treasurer’s office in 1903 and remained there six years, leaving to become license clerk in the office of the city and county treasurer. A year later he joined the Waianae Company as plantation luna for two years. In 1912 he accepted the position of station agent with the Oahu Railway & Land Co., resigning four years later to take the position of bookkeeper and cashier with the Schuman Carriage Co., Ltd., where he remained until 1920 when he joined the Royal Hawaiian Sales Co., Ltd., as bookkeeper, later being promoted to assistant treasurer and office manager. Mr. Holt was district magistrate at Waianae from Nov. 26, 1913, to Aug. 31, 1916. He is a member of Hawaiian Lodge No. 21, F. & A.M.; Native Sons of Hawaii, Honolulu Golf and Hawaiian Civic Clubs. He was born in Honolulu, Feb. 4, 1884, the son of John Dominis and Emma (Daniels) Holt, and received a high school education. He married Mary J. Norton, Oct. 9, 1920, and they have one child, Harry Daniels Holt. Mr. Holt has two children by a former marriage, Walter Wm. Holt and Alice (Holt) McGuire.
