Nellist EDWIN ENGLAND HUNTER, Chartered Accountant. Graduated from Glasgow University, where he received his degree as a chartered accountant in 1920 upon the completion of various courses in law, political economy, actuarial science and accountancy, Edwin E. Hunter was employed in various chartered accountants’ offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh for a short period and then left his native land for Australia. But during a stop-over in Hawaii, Mr. Hunter was so favorable impressed by the islands that he cancelled his passage further and remained here. During his residence in Honolulu he has been connected in responsible capacities with the Audit Co. of Hawaii, Ltd. Born in Helensburgh, Dumbartonshire, Scotland, on March 27, 1890, Mr. Hunter is the son of John England and Eliza (Martin) Hunter. His early education was received at the Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh. During the World War, Mr. Hunter served with the British Imperial Forces from December, 1914, to June, 1919, attaining the rank of captain in the Royal Field Artillery. He is a member of the University, Oahu Country, Outrigger Canoe and Pearl Harbor Yacht Clubs in Honolulu, the Institute of Accountants and Actuaries, Glasgow, and the American Institute of Accountants.
