Nellist FRANK LEICESTER JAMES, Importer and Exporter. Frank L. James, president and manager of the Pan-Pacific Traders, Ltd., manufacturers’ agents and importers and exporters with an extensive business reaching every country of the Pacific, came to Honolulu in 1904 when a boy, to join his parents, and entered business life five years later. Incorporated in 1917, the Pan-Pacific Traders, Ltd., was an outgrowth of Greenbaugh & James, manufacturers’ agents, a partnership organized in 1916. Mr. James served as vice-president and manager of the firm and became its president in 1920. Dealing in dry goods, building materials and other lines of merchandise, the company has business connections with Australia, New Zealand, the Orient and the mainland of the United States. Graduated from McKinley High School in 1909, Mr. James went to work for the Waterhouse Company, rubber factors, with whom he was associated until 1914. During the World War he was a member of the first officers’ training camp at Schofield Barracks, and later attended the officers’ school at Camp Pike, Arkansas. Born at San Antonio, Texas, Oct. 31, 1888, Mr. James is the son of Dr. William F. and Sarah Ellen James. Dr. James came to Hawaii in 1903, and has since been connected with the U.S. Public Health Service in Honolulu. Mr. James married Frances Lucia Josephson at Grenfal, N.S.W., April 3, 1914. They have three children, Francis Joseph P., Margaret Helen and Theodore Ralph James. He is a Mason and a member of the American Defense Society, Honolulu Chamber of Commerce and Commercial Club.
