CLIFFORD KIMBALL, Hotel Owner. Taking over the proprietorship of Halekulani 
Hotel at Waikiki in 1917, Clifford Kimball has developed the property into one 
of the leading family hotels in the Territory. Extensive additions have been 
made and Mr. Kimball recently purchased an acre of additional beach frontage 
upon which he expects to erect other new buildings for Halekulani.
  Mr. Kimball’s experience in the hotel business has covered a period of many 
years. In 1909 he became manager of Haleiwa Hotel and operated it until he 
took over the leasehold of Halekulani. He came to Hawaii in 1901, and was 
first employed by Wilder & Co. in the lumber department. Previously he was a 
salesman for a Boston leather company, and in the employ of a large wholesale 
paper concern in Boston.
  Born in Newton, Mass., Jan. 29, 1875, Mr. Kimball is the son of George F. 
and Ellen C. (Pulsifer) Kimball. He attended the public schools of Newton, 
Mass. In 1902 he married Juliet M. King of Honolulu, daughter of Thomas J. and 
Josephine King. They have two children, George Pulsifer and Richard King 
Kimball.
  Mr. Kimball is a member of the Oahu Country, Hawaii Polo and Racing, 
Honolulu Ad and Honolulu Automobile clubs, and the Honolulu Chamber of 
Commerce. As a former director of the Hawaii Tourist Bureau he was a factor in 
the development of tourist travel to the islands.
