Nellist THOMAS VICTOR KING, Merchant. Thomas V. King, son of the late Thomas James King, organizer of the California Feed Co., Ltd., and one of the best known business men in Honolulu for several decades, was treasurer of that firm until it was sold to the Honolulu Dairymen’s Association in April, 1925. Born in Oakland, Calif., Nov. 1, 1875, Mr. King was brought to Honolulu when a child of six by his parents. His education was received in Honolulu and at Heald’s Business College, San Francisco. He began his business life in 1895 as a clerk for the Hawaiian Hardware Co., leaving that firm to become manager of the Pacific Cycle & Manufacturing Co., from 1896 to 1898. For several years Mr. King was assistant bookkeeper of the Hawaiian Electric Co., and from 1901 to 1912 he was a deputyu tax assessor for the city of Honolulu. In 1912 he joined his father in the California Feed Co. Mr. King is treasurer, director and manager of the Kauai Honey Co., which he and his brother, L. C. King, organized in 1905. He is also treasurer of the Honolulu Finance & Thrift Co., director of the Bergstrom Music Co., and manager of an insurance business which he recently established. He is a director and past president of the Oahu Country Club, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and Myrtle Boat Club. In 1911 Mr. King married Ada Isabel Newbegin in Mill Valley, Calif., and they have two children, Thomas and Edith King.
