Nellist ADOLPH BENJAMIN KROLL, Department Manager. Arriving in Hawaii in August, 1911, to take charge of the lumber department of Lewers & Cooke, Ltd., A. B. Kroll held that position until 1920, when he joined Allen & Robinson, Ltd., in the same capacity. A great part of the modern Honolulu has been built during Mr. Kroll’s residence here and much of the material used in that work has been marketed under his direction. Mr. Kroll was one of the reorganizers of the Kaimuki Improvement Club, reviving it after a long period in which it has ceased to function. He served as president of the club during the first two years following its reorganization and has acted in various other official capacities since then. He has also served as secretary of the Kaimuki Building and Loan Association since it was founded in 1921. Keenly interested in various forms of athletics, particularly rowing, Mr. Kroll has been active in the affairs of the Healani Yacht and Boat Club, having served as its delegate to the Hawaiian Rowing Association since 1916, and was president of the latter body in 1924 and 1925. An active Republican in politics, Mr. Kroll has held various offices in his precinct club, having served both as president and as representative to the central committee. Born in New York City, Mr. Kroll is the son of Leopold and Frederika Kroll. He received his education in the public and high schools. He married Charlotte Agnes Horner in Honolulu, Aug. 9, 1915. They have for children, Charlotte Leilani, Marguerite Healani, Adolph Benjamin, Jr., and Beatrice Kuulei Kroll. Mr. Kroll is a Mason, Shriner and Elk.
