Nellist EDWIN KAHIWA LINDSEY, Educator. After five years in the sugar industry, Edwin K. Lindsey returned to the field of education and in 1922 accepted his present position at Kohala, Hawaii, where he is principal of the Makapala School. Born at Waimea, Hawaii, March 26, 1885, he is the son of William and Kaluna Lindsey. He was educated at Hilo Boarding School, the government school and the Territorial Normal School. In 1909 and 1910 he taught at Olaa, Hawaii; 1910 to 1916 at Kohala, and from 1916 to 1917 at Waimea, Hawaii. He entered the employ of the Kohala Sugar Co. as a timekeeper in 1917, resigning in 1922. He is a Mason, treasurer of the Masonic Club of Kohala, secretary of the Normal School Alumni Association, Kohala, and a member of the Kohala Social and Kohala Young People’s clubs.
