Nellist WILLIAM LOUGHER, Mill Superintendent. Since 1902 William Lougher has been associated with the Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co., at Puunene, Maui, in recent years as mill superintendent. Born at Bonvilstone, Wales, Great Britain, Dec. 22, 1876, he is the son of Robert and Elizabeth Lougher. He was educated in the public schools. His first work was assisting his father on the latter’s farm in Wales. He came to Hawaii in May, 1895, and was an overseer for the Waiakea Mill and Plantation Co. for two years and then changed to the milling end of the industry, serving for five years in charge of the boiling house for the Nuilii Mill and Plantation Co., Kohala, Hawaii. He entered the employ of the Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar CO. in 1902 and rose through various positions to the one he now holds. He married Lillian Adele Murray in Honolulu, July 25, 1907, and they have two children, Irma Eleanor and Alwyn Patricia. Mr. Lougher is a member of Lodge Maui No. 472, F. & A.M.; Honolulu Lodge No. 616, B.P.O. Elks, Aloha Lodge No. 3, K. of P., the Maui Chamber of Commerce and the Maui County Fair and Racing Association.
