Nellist ALEXANDER CHARLES ROCKWELL, Telephone Manager. After many years of business experience with several Tasmanian, Australian and Fiji Island commercial concerns, Alexander C. Rockwell came to Hawaii in 1918 and for the next year was engaged as an expert accountant for the Audit Co. of Hawaii, Ltd. From 1920 to 1922 he was cashier of the Maui Telephone Co., and since 1923 he has been manager of that corporation. His first position was in Launceston, Tasmania, where he remained from 1889 to 1898, and from 1902 to 1911 he was bookkeeper for Alfred Harrap & Son, wool and grain brokers in Launceston. For the next year he was employed by Atkins McQuitty, Ltd., in Sydney, Australia, and from 1913 to 1917 he lived in Suva, Fiji, where he was accountant and director of the A. M. Brodziak Co., Ltd. Mr. Rockwell is a member of the Maui Chamber of Commerce, the Maui County Fair and Racing Association, and the Australian Institute of Secretaries. Born in Tasmania, Sept 6, 1871, he is the son of Alfred Charles and Eliza (Taylor) Rockwell. He attended the public schools in Launceston, Tasmania.
