During a portion of 1906 and 1907 he traveled in the United States and Europe and, returning to the islands in 1908, he became field luna for the Oahu Sugar Co. For one year he was assistant head overseer of the F. A. Schaefer plantations at Honokaa and Kukuihaele, Hawaii, and then left plantation work to engage in construction activities. For a year he was employed by the Lord Engineering Co., and he then began work for the Kahului Railway, assisting in the construction of the extension from Hamakuapoko to the Haiku cannery. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Sept. 2, 1883, Mr. Scott is the son of Andrew and Mary (Morrison) Scott, and a descendent of a long line of Scotch forbears.
