Nellist ARTHUR JOSEPH SPITZER, Merchant. Born in Chicago, Oct. 8, 1876, Arthur J. Spitzer is one of three sons of the late Joseph and Eda Spitzer to be associated with the business life of Honolulu. His father founded the Hub Clothing Co. in Honolulu many years ago, and when Arthur Spitzer had completed ten years’ experience with the large cloak and suit manufacturers, F. Siegel & Bros., of Chicago, he came to the islands in November, 1900. He immediately began to work for the wholesale house of Hyman Brothers, known since 1902 as I. Rubenstein & Co., Ltd., and in 1925 Mr. Spitzer is vice- president, director and manager of that large concern, and vice-president and director of the Hub Clothing CO., Ltd. He is a Mason, Shriner, Elk and a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club. He was treasurer of the Honolulu Elks’ lodge for more than ten years. In 1915 Mr. Spitzer married Selma Horman of Watertown, Wis., and they have one son, Arthur Horman Spitzer.
