Nellist HUGH DOUGLAS YOUNG, Chartered Accountant. Coming to Hawaii in 1912 on a visit, H. Douglas Young, manager of the Audit Company of Hawaii, Ltd., remained in Honolulu to take a leading place in his profession. He became executive head of the firm in 1916 when the Hawaiian company was incorporated to take over the business of a professional organization incorporated under the laws of New York State. Mr. Young also was president of the Territorial Board of Accountancy in 1924. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Mr. Young is the son of Hugh and Ellen Mary (Macmillan) Young. He attended the high school of Glasgow, Clifton College and Glasgow University of Law, political economy and actuarial science. He holds the degree of chartered accountant and is a certified public accountant. Mr. Young is a member of the American Institute of Accountants, University and Oahu Country Clubs of Honolulu, and the Royal Automobile Club of London.
