Austin J. Snyder
Died December 12, 1914

A. J. Snyder was born in Warren County, Pennsylvania, June 12, 1833 and was 81 
years, 5 months, 29 days at the time of his death. He died at the home of his 
son 608 North Division Street at 6:45 Friday night. The funeral was held at 
the home of his son, A. B. Snyder. Mr. Snyder suffered a stroke of paralysis a 
year ago last August and never recovered. Mr. Snyder moved to Creston in 1874. 
He is survived his widow and four children: 
1. A. B. Snyder, Creston, IA
2. Harry O. Snyder, Kansas City, MO
3. Mrs. Jessie Beeke, Peoria, IL
4. Mrs. Lily Hartman, Des Moines, IA. 

He was a member of the local Masonic lodge.

(Austin J Snyder married Caroline Brown in Warren County, Illinois and lived 
in Adair County, Iowa prior to moving to Creston.  He is buried at Fontanelle 
Cemetery with his wife and next to his parents, George and Lydia (Coe) Snyder.)
