It is on Road A 26, 4.1 miles east of State Highway 76. (Lots are numbered as follows-first row left to right, second row right to left, etc.) The land for this cemetery was originally a part of the William Money Sadler farm. The earliest burial appears to have been in 1858. It was the burial grounds until the cemetery adjoining the Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church was laid out in 1871. The information in italics is from cemetery records, personal observation, 'The History of Allamakee County Iowa, 1989'and/or from personal family histories. It is correct to the best of my knowledge. ALLEN (Parts of stone broken off and on ground) SILAS D., son of S.D. & Lucy Allen (b. 1862) Lot 1 Died Feb. 8, 1864 Age 2 years Foot stone-S.D.A.
