Rev. Ernest L. Shaffer of the Vinton Prairie Creek church, former pastor at Fairview, will conduct the services, assisted by Rev. Oliver Jensen of La Porte City's Methodist church. Burial will be in West View Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died yesterday afternoon at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo where she had been a patient 12 days after a several days illness at her home. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. As Minnie Kaiser, she was born Dec. 7, 1881, at Mendota, Ill., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kaiser. As a small child she came with her parents to the Fairview community in Benton County where she grew to womanhood. She married Roy Brown March 18, 1903, at Mt. Auburn, and the couple started farming at Fairview. They farmed in that community until 1938 when they retired and moved to LaPorte City. She joined the Fairview United Brethren Church in her youth and was an active member of the church. She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge for many years before resigning a year ago. Surviving are her husband, six sons, Clifford of Dysart, Ralph, Lawrence and Everett of LaPorte City; George of Waterloo and Robert of Medford, Ore., two daughters, Mrs. Chet Snovel of Eldora and Mrs. Harold Childres of Compton, Cal., 16 grandchildren, eight sisters, Mrs. Sophia Loveless, Mrs. Nettie Skiles, Mrs. T. W. Elliott, Mrs. Henry Mahood, Mrs. Emma Walker and Mrs. Ray Runyan of LaPorte City; Mrs. Lizzie Hill of Mt. Auburn and Mrs. Walter Wilson of Souix Falls, S. D.; and two brothers, Philip R. Kaiser of Independence and Louis of Garrison. One brother, an infant daughter and one grandson preceded her in death. The body is at the Johannsen Funeral home.
