Edwin L Kern dies at age 78
  Luzerne--Edwin L. Kern, 78m, died Saturday at his home following a long 
illness.
  He was born July 13, 1899 in Luzerne, a son of Joseph and Mary Olivia Kern, 
and married Lottie C. Stineford on Jan. 12, 1927 at Marengo.
  In addition to his widow, he is survived by one son, Richard of Ladora; one 
daughter, Mrs. Jack (Erma) Formanek of Marengo; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond 
Birch of Keystone and Mrs Edna Stacy of Lyons, Ind; and six grandchildren.  He 
was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
  Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the T. W. Van Beck Funeral 
Home  in Blairstown, with the Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Burial will be in 
the Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
  Friends may call at the funeral home.....
