M. BEAL IS TAKEN BY DEATH SUCCUMBS AFTER PROLONGED ILLNESS LAST NIGHT. Came to Iowa in 1867-Long Identified With Black Hawk County. M.M. Beal of 1126 Fourth street west died last night about 9 o'clock, after a lingering illness of forty-two weeks' duration. Mr. Beal, second son of J. L. Beal, 815 Third street west, was born in Fayette county, Pa., on Jan 16, 1866, and when but one year of age came to Iowa and to Black Hawk county with his parents where he had continuously mad his home with the exception of ten years which he spent at Dysart, Ia. Mr. Beal was married to Mary Walters of Cedar Falls, March 20, 1891. One child now Mrs. LuVerne Beal Covell of this city, was born of this union. Mr. Beal joined the United Brethren church when 19 years of age and was a member of that church until moving to Dysart, when he joined the Methodist Episcopal church. On coming to Waterloo, he affiliated with First Methodist Episcopal church, of which church he was an official member most of the years of his relation to that organization. Three brothers and three sisters survive his death. They are: H. M. Beal of Milan, Minn.; Walter M. Beal of Dunnell, Minn.; Charles M. Beal, Mrs. H. N. Butterfield, and Mrs. George Huntington all of Waterloo, and Mrs. C. E. Eastman of Estherville, Ia. All of the brothers and sisters were present at his bedside at the time of his death except H. M. Beal. A large number of other relatives were also present at his bedside, among whom were J. C. Walters of Covina, Cal., H. W. Walters of LuVerne, Minn. Funeral services will be held from the house tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, and from First Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock. Those who wish to view the remains can do so at the residence tomorrow forenoon from 9 to 11:30 o'clock.
