Craft Norma G. Craft, 91, of 1600 50th Street, La Porte City, died July 11, 2004 at her son's home from natural causes. She died one-quarter mile south of the home in which she was born on October 7, 1912, in Poyner Township, near La Porte City. Norma was the daughter of Herbert A. and Lora Harmon Christian. She graduated from La Porte City High School and taught country school. In 1930 she married Clyde Craft and they later divorced. She was a 4-H leader and Farm Bureau member for many years. She loved woodworking, quilting and doing crafts of all sorts. She is survived by her son, Duane (Joanne) of LaPorte City; one sister, Beulah Klenk of Belle Plaine, Iowa; one brother, Ervin Christian of Waterloo, six grandchildren and 17 great granchildren. Norma is preceded by her parents; one daughter, Diane Mether; one sister, Helen Kaler and one grandson, Ted Mether. Services were held Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Huisman Funeral Home with burial in West View Cemetery, both of LaPorte City, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.
