Stark-Welin Funeral Home
Raymond Buzby Mitchell.91,formerly of 210 LinnStreet,Boone,Iowa, Passed away 
at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone,Iowa on Wensday evening,March 25, 
1998 due to congestive heart failure. He had recently moved to the Evangelical 
Free Church Home earlier this month.

He was born on July 20, 1906 in McAlester,Oklahoma the son of James and Grace 
(Buzby) Mitchell.

On February 15, 1943 he married Mae Knowles at Omaha,Nebraska.

As a young man,Ray worked in a grocery store and bakery. He was a conductor 
for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 44 years before retiring. He and his 
brother owned and operated the Grarock Company in Boone for a numer of years. 
During his Leisure time,he enjoed gardening and the outdoors.

He was Preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister.

Survivors include his wife Mae of Boone,Iowa, 1 son and a daughter-in-law, 
david and Jan Mitchell of Boone,Iowa, 1 daughter, Lois Davis of Boone,Iowa 1 
grandson, Andrew Mitchell of Boone, Iowa 1 granddaughter, Melissa Oviatt and 
her husband Shawn of Boone,Iowa. Cousins, Mrs. John Rauch of Tulsa,Oklahoma 
and Mrs. Melvin Wood of Corvallis, Oregon, 2 sister-in-laws, Mariam Mitchell 
of Boone,Iowa, Dorothy Branscombe of Glendale,Arizona, 3 nieces, Mrs. Richard 
Tryon of Omaha,Nebraska, Mrs.Linda Dorman of Phoniex, Arizona, Mrs. Jim Dyck 
of Kansas, 4 Nephews, Robert Mitchell of Stafford,Texas, Robert Knowles of 
Harker Heights, Texas, Don Knowles of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Ken Knowles 
of Des Moines, Iowa.

Services will be held on Saturday afternoon, March 28th, at 1:30 P.M.. at 
Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone with Jack Martz officiating.

Following the funeral service, the body will be cremated with interment to be 
held at a later date in Boone Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Boone,Iowa.

Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone is in charge of arrangments.
