Jahn, 81, of Emmetsburg, a former resident of Sumner, died suddenly at St. Petersburg, Florida, at her winter home, Sunday morning, Feb. 27. The body was to be returned to Sumner, scheduled to arrive here Wednesday night. Friends may call at the Emerson-Milnes Funeral Home anytime after noon today (Thursday). Funeral services were held Tuesday at Rhodes funeral Home, St Petersburg and services here will be held on. Saturday, Mar. 4 at 3 p.m. at the Emerson-Milnes Funeral Home with Rev. Robert MacCanon, pastor of the Sumner United Methodist and Salem United Methodist Churches, officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery northwest of Sumner. Lynda Haag was born Dec. 6, 1890, northwest of Sumner in Bremer County, at the farm home of her parents, Jacob and Anna Boehm Haag. She attended schools in this community and graduated from the Sumner Public High School with the class of 1909. On March 8, 1914, she was united in marriage with Adolph Jahn. The couple operated a Mercantile store here in Summer for a short time, then operated a similar business at Waverly. Moving to Emmetsburg, they operated a ready-to- wear store there for approximately 45 years before retiring. Mr. Jahn preceded his wife in death on Jan. 30 1962. For the past several years, Mrs. Jahn had spent the winter months at St. Petersburg. Survivors include one niece, Virginia, Mrs. Edward Muether of Sumner and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Nellie Haag of Sumner. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Jahn was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret in 1971 and two brothers, Elmer and Arthur Haag.
