Former Waverly Girl Dead. ____________ On Wednesday forenoon of last week, Mrs. Fred Christoph, living near New Hampton, committed suicide by taking oil of tansy. She appeared in the morning to be her usual health, but after breakfast she deliberately took the bottle which she had secured some time before, and saying to her husband: "Good-by, Fred," swallowed the fatal poison in the presence of the family and before her husband could reach her. The young people had only been married about a year and a half and had a good home, and so far as we have been able to learn there was no cause for the mad act unless her mind had become unsettled. The deceased was a daughter of Theodore Keller living near Waverly. The body was brought here and the funeral held last Sunday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The newspaper(s) in which the obituary was published is unknown to this transcriptionist.
