There was no reference as to which newspaper the obituary appeared. HAINES.- At the residence of his brother, C. C. Haines, in Polk township, on Friday last, August 22nd 1881, Gleason T. Haines, aged 69 years. Deceased came from lake county, Ill., about two months ago with his wife, to visit his children and brother. His health had not been good for some time. He was taken suddenly very ill, with the above result. Mr. Haines was a man of integrity, being in all things the soul of honor. He leaves a son, C. Haines, a daughter, Mrs. S. S. Clark, and a brother, C. C. Haines, all in this county. His devoted wife was with him to the last. Mr. Haines was one of the oldest settlers of Lake county, Ill., having settled there in 1836. His funeral took place from the residence of his brother on Saturday last, Rev. H. H. Green officiating. A large concourse of friends and neighbors accompanied the remains of the good man to their last resting place in Horton cemetery.
