Compiled by Harold BRIGGS. Transcription Note: There was no newspaper or other publication sited. Dated: Mar. 26, 1903 MARY A. HASTINGS was born Dec. 13, 1853 in Iowa county, Wis. And died March 26, 1903 at Waverly, Iowa. When she was three years of age her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Chas. R. Hastings came to Iowa and located on a farm near Horton, ten miles north of Waverly, where she lived until about eight years ago, when she, with her parents, moved to Waverly into the home from which she recently took her final departure. She early became a christian, and later united with the First Baptist church of this city, remaining a faithful, consistent, loyal christian and member until the day of her death. Her father preceeded her Nov. 10, 1901, since which time she has been in failing health. Her mother, Mrs. Dianah Hastings, two brothers, Clark M., of Verndale, Minn., and Charles of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Willis Farr also of Waverly, with a large number of friends, will greatly miss her, and will hold her life and deeds in grateful remembrance. The funeral services were held from the late residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, J. W. Graves. Interment in Harlington cemetery. Transcribed by Barb Braun, February 18, 2000. FRANK LAMPSON died at her home near Six Mile Grove, Wednesday, December 16th, 1903. Funeral services were held Friday at the church at that place, conducted by Rev. George Hoover, the pastor. Rhoda J. Chapman was born in Walworth county, Wisconsin, in 1855, and came to Bremer county, Iowa, with her parents when an infant, where she has since resided. She was married to Frank Lampson in 1855. She leaves a husband and nine children besides an aged mother and four sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her loss. She was a devoted wife and fond and loving mother, a kind neighbor, and will be greatly missed in her home. Transcribed by Barb Braun, February 18, 2000.
